The Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev met with athletes gaining success at national and international sports competitions in 2019.

2019 was successful for the Gabala Sports Club. Thus, this year the athletes of the club won 42 medals at national and international competitions, 12 of them were gold, 16 - silver and 14 - bronze. Sabuhi Abdullayev, the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power, met with athletes of the Gabala Sports Club successfully performing at the national and international sports competitions in 2019. The Head of the Region Executive Power greeted the meeting participants and spoke about the progress achieved in 2019 in the socio-economic sphere, as well as in the further development of sports in our country and the region under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. At the National Olympic Committee Ceremony, dedicated to the sports results for the current year, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev stated that the sports become more popular in Azerbaijan. The more young people are involved in sports. Azerbaijan successfully hosts plenty of international sports competitions. In 2019, our athletes won 775 medals at the international competitions, 271 of them were gold. Athletes of the Gabala Sports Club also hold a prominent place in the success of the country's athletes. The Head of the Region Executive Power congratulated our athletes on the success achieved in 2019 and wished them more luck in 2020. He congratulated the athletes on the International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis and the New Year as well. Coordinator of Gabala Sports Club for general issues, honored trainer Sabuhi Garayev said that thanks to the care and attention of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the material and technical base of sports in our country reached global standards and the great results have been achieved. Sabuhi Garayev said that thanks to the care of the President, large projects on the development of sports were also carried out in Gabala. Our athletes are grateful to the President for this. The Sports Club's coordinator informed the Head of the Region Executive Power about the achievements of the Gabala Sports Club in 2019. Then, the Head of the Region Executive Power, Sabuhi Abdullayev, presented awards of REP to the athletes who successfully performed at the national and international competitions in 2019, and to the coaches of the Gabala Sports Club.
