Within technical assistance for the implementation of the "Support Program for Rural Areas and Regional Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan", an event of the working group was held on February 19-20. Representatives of relevant government authorities, non-governmental organizations and entrepreneurs were represented at the event. The purpose of the event was to assess local potential for the preparation of Territorial Development Plan. It was noted at the meeting that the project of the assistance for the implementation of the “Support Program for Rural Areas and Regional Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan” has been implemented since January 2017, with financial support of the European Union and with the cooperation of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The main goal of the project is to support the diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan and the sustainable development of the regions, reduce socio-economic inequality between the regions, increase the potential of central and local government bodies in the execution and management of state program. The event was attended by the Deputy Head of Gabala region Executive Power, Arif Allahverdiyev.
