The unique monument of the ancient period is found in Gabala.
During large-scale archaeological excavations, works on reconstruction and conservation, held on the territory of ancient Gabala, the workers of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of ANAS found the samples of material culture of the ancient period on the territory of the Soltannuha village. It is assumed that the monument is at least 1800-1900 years old. During the preliminary research, 7 ancient tombs were found, standing out for their richness and special funeral rites.
One of the attention-grabbing moments is folding of 40 delft ware pieces into the grave with the wrapped body. Along with kitchenware, four solid ram figures were also put into the grave. A spear, knife, sickle were found near the skeleton, number of jewelleries and beads were on the buried. In the aforementioned tomb another human skeleton was accidentally discovered. By assumption of the archaeologists, it is the skeleton of the servant of the deceased, who was a representative of rich social class. It is supposed to demonstrate the samples discovered during the archaeological excavations in the museum of Gabala State Historical-Artistic Reserve.
