The event was held in Gabala Tourism and Hotel Business Vocational Training Center connected with the twenty-fourth anniversary of 20 th January tragedy”.

The event was  held  in  Gabala  Toursim and  Hotel Business  Vocational Training  Centre dedicated  to 20 th January tragedy- National Day of Mourning. At  first  all the  engineering - pedagogical collective and  pupils  of  the center commemorated the  martyrs  of   20th  January tragedy  with   minute of silence.
Director  of  Training  Center  E. Kazimov  who  made a speech   at the event  spoke  about terrorist act   implemented  by  the  Soviet Army   with  Armenian gangs  against  Azerbaijani  people  on the  night passing from   January 19 to  20, 1990.  He  pointed  out that  20th January tragedy  which  resulted  in  large losses, murder of innocent people also  demonstrates   the bellicosity,  recalcitrance and  pride  of  Azerbaijani  people  who  could  not  tolerate  the  treacherous policy of  criminal  leadership  of  empire  headed  by  Mikhail Gorbachev and  strove for  their  freedom, independence. 
Then  YMTC leader  of center  I.Afandiyev  made a detailed report. By addressing  to  the  collective  he  pointed  out that  20th January  is  not  only the day  to be  remembered   in the  history  of  Azerbaijani  people  with   pain and  suffering. We   should  not  forget that scarlet    blood  of  martyrs  which    stained  the streets   on this  day,  was symbolizing  red dawn  of  waking  sun  of  our  national   mentality. 
On that  night  our  people  could    stand against  terrible nightmare , horrible  Black-Hundreds  of  Soviet military forces which  were  swooped  on  them  and demonstrate  their    dignity and  steadfastness.
Teacher  of   the center  R.Mammadova  spoke about  20th January  event  and   noted  that  representatives  of  five  nation, numerous  women  and  children were also among those  killed.
People  were  shot   not  only  in the streets  but  also  in the  bus and  their  apartments. Natig  as a live  witness  of  those days  gave advice  to  young  generation  to   always  honor  the  memory  of  people   who    became  martyr  for the sake of our   independence  and  never  forget them.
Pupils  of  center  Vusal Mustafayev,  Mehraj  Yunuslu  speaking  on behalf  of   youth  confidently  expressed that  they    will  grow   up as a  faithful  child  to the  motherland and  take  an active  part   in maintaining  the    independence  of  our  people as  a true  citizen. 
Assistant Director   of  Training  Center  R.Mammadova   noted that, in spite  of  threats against  him and  his family,  Great Son   of  Azerbaijani  People, National leader  sharply  condemned  USSR leadership, Mikhail Gorbachev's policy, expressed his  strong protest against the tragedy. 20th January tragedy mobilized the  Azerbajani people, strengthened their struggle  for freedom and independence. Homeland  will never forget the martyrs.
