The positive results of the work done in the fight against the pandemic are obvious.

Since the first day of the globe-spanning coronavirus pandemic (COVID 19), our country has been actively fighting to prevent its negative consequences. At the meeting on "Measures taken in the field of coronavirus control and socio-economic situation", held by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on August 6, 2020, positive dynamics in the fight against coronavirus was noted. The dynamics from July 16 to the present day is a reason to say that all the measures taken give a positive result. As a result of these measures, the situation is still under control. The number of people infected from July 16 to the present day is significantly lower than the number of recovered people. The coronavirus disease will continue to be under control. Positive dynamics has been observed for three weeks. All necessary preventive measures were taken from the first days. Thus, we get out of the situation with less losses. Our doctors have done a great job. As a result of the their relentless work the number of deaths from this disease is at a low level in Azerbaijan. Today, 46 hospitals serve only patients with coronavirus. 41 of them have been built or renovated over the past 17 years and are equipped with modern equipment. At the same time, taking into account that the number of patients was growing, and despite this, available hospitals expanded our capabilities, it became necessary to build new ones. For this purpose, the construction of modular hospitals was organized. So far, 9 modular hospitals have been commissioned. An 800-bed hospital has been commissioned by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and a 1300-bed hospital will be commissioned by the end of this month. It also means additional 2,100 beds. It was decided to turn two Olympic sports complexes into hospitals and they were put in a state of readiness in a short time. Economic and social issues are also being addressed. Just look at the works carried out in recent months to see the extent of the work done. At the meeting the President said: "We will take our steps in the fight against coronavirus in accordance with the situation. We are all well aware that people are tired, and the quarantine regime stresses us out. The entire management team works almost 24 hours a day. When it is possible, the quarantine regime will be eased, as it has already been eased since the 5th of the month. However, citizens should also understand that if we see an increase in the disease again after this easing, there will be no other measures, the regime will be tightened again. Positive dynamics leads to the easing of the quarantine regime. But there should also be a mechanism for very serious control. Today all sanitary and epidemiological standards must be fully met at the newly opened facilities. Social distance must be ensured. Maintenance at facilities should be organized based on the new rules. The disease did not disappear. Therefore, it is being fought. The second wave might be the case if the disease disappears and then a new source of infection will appear. Therefore, this issue should be under very serious control. Our main goal is people's health. Our economic situation and development, stability of the economy and support for business areas, and preparations for the post-pandemic period are next in terms of importance. This is a very serious problem for the world. The pandemic is now a number-one problem for the world. Therefore, we must all be responsible. If this dynamics does not change, it may be possible to further ease the quarantine regime in a short time and we will return to normal life soon."
