Minister of Culture and Tourism received citizens in Gabala.
Upon the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, every month heads of central bodies of executive power held the reception of citizens in the regions. On September 10th, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev met with residents of Gabala, Agsu, Ismayilli, Gobustan, Oguz and Shamakhi districts in the Cultural Center of Gabala.
Prior to the meeting, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev and Head of the District Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev laid fresh bouquets of roses at the monument of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev raised in the center of Gabala city.
About 40 people who signed up for the reception by e-mail of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, on the site of the electronic services, by telephone help desk, as well as by contacting the department of culture and tourism of the appropriate cities and districts, during the meeting with the Minister expressed the requests and suggestions related to the various problems.
As in previous meetings, citizens' appeals were mainly related to the improvement of the material and technical base of culture, the creation of museums, folk art development, promotion of cultural heritage, carrying out of memory evenings, assistance in matters related to the initiatives in the tourism sector, as well as employment and other social issues.
The requests for assistance in participation in international exhibitions of craftsmen from Gabala region, provision of equipment for the development of carpet weaving in the village of Bash Dashagyl of Oguz district, the restoration of the mosque in the village of Damirchi in Shamakhi district were voiced. It was also announced a proposal to hold a conference on the history of ancient Gabala and archaeological research conducted in the territory of historical and cultural reserve of Gabala.
The Minister also listened to citizens' requests concerning the construction of a new building for the local history museums in Ismayilli and Oguz districts, creation of the ethnographic museum in Shamakhi, the opening of an art gallery in Oguz city. Appeals were made regarding the perpetuation of the memory of Ashiq Hanysh in Gobustan, grant of the "drama theatre" status to the Gabala folk theatre.
At the meeting, the development of tourism in the regions was also in the focus. There were proposals for the inclusion of the archaeological museum complex, which was created on the site of the ancient city of Agsu, in the tourist route, the opening in the Gobustan region of tourist college.
After reception Minister Abulfas Garayev in an interview with reporters emphasized the importance of such meetings with the public in terms of the examination of the situation on the ground, as well as prompt existing problems solving. He said that all requests and appeals will be carefully considered, as far as possible the measures will be taken to solve them.
Noting that during the appeals a number of urgent issues and interesting proposals have been nominated, including those related to the development of tourism in the region, research and promotion of historical and cultural heritage, the Minister welcomed the initiative of citizens, said that in the future may be a special meeting on these topics will be held. The Minister noted that the appeals of social character, voiced during the meeting will be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for review and assist in their resolution.
