Gabala has been chosen as member of UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.
For the first time, Gabala is one of the Azerbaijani cities announced by the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities. This year, in general, 55 cities from 27 countries have joined in Global Network. Gabala district was also chosen as member of Network at the event in video conference on the announcement of new members on September 23. The purpose of the UNESCO Global Network on Lifelong Education is the conduction of exchange of experience in the education field among member cities, support the improvement process of cities on learning, inclusiveness, promotion of welfare and sustainable development, and increase the quality of education. Currently, 230 cities of 64 countries are members of the network in the world. The activity of the UNESCO Global Network on Learning Cities is connected by the UNESCO Institution of Lifelong Education, located in Hamburg, Germany.
