An open "All-Round Fighting" tournament took place in Gabala.
With the organizational support of the Department of Youth and Sports of Gabala region an open "all-around fighting" tournament took place in Vandam settlement.
The aim of the tournament is to promote all-round fighting types in the regions, improve the role of physical education and sport in the breeding in patriotic spirit of young people, and improve their sports skills and training of combined teams in these sports.
At the opening of the tournament state anthem of Azerbaijan Republic was sounded, then Head of the District Department of Youth and Sports Fakhri Soltanov in his speech spoke about the aims and objectives of the competition, the care of the state, provided to the sport, traditions, supporting the sport, which were founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, stressed the successful continuation of this work by the head of state Ilham Aliyev. Then the coach over martial arts Tunjay Aliyev told the participants about the rules of the competition.
Within the competitions held in conditions of hot contest among 6 age groups in 16 weight categories, team of Gabala city took I place, team from Ismailli - II place, a team from Ujar III place and team from Yevlakh IV place.
Following the results the tournament athletes who took the I, II, III places in each weight category were awarded diplomas and medals by the District Department of Youth and Sport, and the team which won by number of medals was awarded the cup.
