Azerbaijan is determined to go all lengths in its fight for justice!

Azerbaijan’s position on Karabakh conflict is that Armenian military units must withdraw from our occupied territories and our country’s territorial integrity must be ensured. Our country’s position is based on the international law and we refer to relevant resolutions of UN Security Council. Our President decidedly expressed the principled position of the Azerbaijani government and people in his interviews to all international mass media, in his addresses to the people, including in his address to the Azerbaijani people on October 26. As President Ilham Aliyev stated that we want justice to be restored and our occupied territories to be returned. For almost 30 years negotiations have been conducting on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict resulting from Armenia’s aggression policy in the format of OSCE Minsk group. Azerbaijan’s participation in negotiations at such a time and always presenting a constructive position is a manifestation of our country’s and people’s commitment to peace. Azerbaijan has always unambiguously stated that conducted negotiations must be accounted for substantive results. However, in about 30 years covering negotiations the result was disappointing. The peaceful Azerbaijani people believed in negotiations and trusted the international community. Unfortunately, our people’s trust has been abused. The UN Security Council’s 4 resolutions containing the unconditional withdrawal of occupying forces from occupied territories remained on paper for 27 years. Today Azerbaijan is implementing the UN Security Council resolutions on its own. Actually Armenia has always violated the negotiation process through different provocations. Recently Armenia’s Prime Minister Pashinyan’s statement that “There is no diplomatic solution to the conflict” is another manifestation of aggressive trait of the opponent. Our state takes a principal approach in ensuring our territorial integrity, as well as returning the occupied territories back and it has a full right to do so. Armenia is violating the humanitarian ceasefire once again. If it continues, Azerbaijan will be entitled to respond to the enemy. Armenia is an occupying state and the war was started by Armenia. The international community also knows this fact well. Armenians conducted illegal settlement in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. Moreover, they tried to erase the Azerbaijani trace from our territories by all means. In the years of occupation Azerbaijan’s nature was seriously damaged, equipment of operating enterprises was dismantled and transported to Armenia. Armenian vandals’ attempts to make a claim on our material and cultural monuments do not make any sense. They tried to misappropriate our monuments according to their characteristics, in case of impossibility to do so, they destroyed these monuments. Yet the international community and OSCE Minsk group co-chairs remained unresponsive to Armenia’s atrocity and ignored Azerbaijan’s legitimate demands. Those who remained silent to Azerbaijan’s legitimate demands until now are only suggesting ceasefire now. Actually, there is a simple formula for stopping the war. It contains that the Armenian armed forces must withdraw from our occupied territories. If so, there will be no need for violation of the ceasefire. Because occupying troops will not be in our territories and the conflict will be solved peacefully. Azerbaijani President also stated in his addresses that in order to start peace negotiations and fully comply with the ceasefire Armenia must make a commitment on withdrawal from our occupied territories. However Armenia does not say so. Minsk group co-chairs who call us for ceasefire and peace negotiations do not demand it from Armenia. It seems that they are only interested in prolonging the solution of the conflict for uncertain period by ensuring the ceasefire again. The fact that Armenia is provided free weapons also remains as an open question. President Ilham Aliyev rightfully asks that where bankrupting Armenia are getting those weapons from? Why those who call us for ceasefire are arming Armenia? Questions like that remain unanswered. Actually everything is clear. So Azerbaijan is determined to go all lengths in its fight for justice. As Mr. President stated that “We will go to the end of this struggle, we will liberate all our occupied territories. Victory is ours, Karabakh is Azerbaijan!”
