Independence Day celebration.
The round table has been conducted on the occasion of October 18 - Independence Day in Gabala Culture Center. Deputy Head of Gabala District Executive Power, the head of social and political and humanitarian affairs department Ataya Osmanova opened the round table with introductory words. She stated that Azerbaijan Supreme Soviet session adopted the Constitutional Act on State Independence on October 18, 1991 under the historical condition arising upon the fall of USSR at the end of XX century and our nation celebrated this memorable day with the great sense of proud every year. Thereafter the director of local history museum Khalis Mammadov made a speech on the history of October 18 – Independence Day. During his speech he emphasized that Azerbaijan Democratic Republic established in 1918 existed only 23 months and the second historical chance occurred upon 70 years and in the issue of hard work of our great leader Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan retained its independence, developed and transformed into leading country in the region. Thereupon the head of culture and tourism department Nargila Gafarova, the deputy director of culture center Ruhib Niftaliyev, the deputy director of Heydar Aliyev Center Kamala Gasimova, the teacher of children’s art school Elnara Gojayeva, employee of centralized library system Gulnara Malikova, the director of Gabala State Art Gallery Malik Aghayev made speech and spoke about the development of Azerbaijan in the years of independence and the progress achieved by the forward-looking policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
