The final competition of the Republican Championship on polyathlon "Ready to Defend the Motherland"
With the organizational support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the final tournament of the Republic on polyathlon "Ready to Defend the Motherland" was held at Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.
The aim of the competition is the physical and moral training of adolescents and young people to defend the motherland, raising a sense of patriotism in them, strengthening of the training among young people of induction and preinduction age, increasing experience and skills of athletes in competitions.
Welcoming special guests and athletes at the opening ceremony of the event, the Head of Youth and Sports Department of Gabala Region Fakhri Soltanov spoke about the state care taken of the sport in the Republic. Then the head of the sector of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Aydin Mammadov in his speech told about the aims and objectives of competition and wished the athletes success.
On the basis of the rules of the International Polyathlon Association 14 teams of the republic took part in sprint at 100 meters, chinup, grenade throw and cross running at 2000 meters.
According to the results of the competition among the city teams I place went to the team from Sumgait, II place took the team of Khazar district of Baku, III place took the team of Nakhchivan city.
Among the district teams, I place went to the team of Gakh district, II place took the team of Ismayilli district, III place took the team of Bilasuvar district. The winning teams were awarded cups and diplomas of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
