The Karate-Do Championship was held dedicated to the memory of the national hero of Azerbaijan, Major General Polad Hashimov
On August 1st, 2021, the "Ayaz" Karate-Do Club Public Association of the Republic of Azerbaijan carried out an Open National Championship among children, teenagers, youth, and adults at the Gabala Olympic Sports Complex. The tournament was dedicated to the memory of the national hero of Azerbaijan, Major General Polad Hashimov. The event participants paid a minute's tribute of silence to the memory of Major General Polad Hashimov and other martyrs of Azerbaijan. Then, the head of the Region Youth and Sports Department, Fakhri Soltanov, the coaches, as well as the representative of the Federation, Ayaz Ibishov, spoke at the opening ceremony. They told about the military path of the Major General Polad Hashimov, our national hero, who became a martyr giving his life for our country. 250 athletes from 25 cities and regions of the country participated in the championship. The event was attended by the public members and Polad Hashimov's children. The winners were awarded medals and certificates.
