A concert of the Baku Chamber Orchestra took place as part of the Gabala Festival

The program of the Gabala Music Festival is exceedingly diverse this year. An evening concert by the Baku Chamber Orchestra of the Baku City Main Department of Culture was presented to the audience on the 2nd festival day.
The artistic director of the orchestra is the People's Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan Farhad Badalbeyli, the principal conductor – the Honored Artist Fuad Ibrahimov, and the conductor – Javad Taghizade.
The concert in the hall of the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center was started with the composition by the Patriotic War veteran, laureate of national and international competitions Vugar Mammadzade, titled "Şəhidlərə ithaf" (Dedication to the martyrs). The laureate of national and international competitions, oboist Aziz Panah performed solo.
The evening was continued with the Concerto No. 3 in D minor by J.S.Bach performed by the People's Artist, pianist Murad Huseynov, F.Handel's "Lascia ch'io pianga" (Let me cry) and Vasif Adygezalov's "Qərənfil" (Carnation) performed by the Presidential Scholar Ilham Nazarov, D.Shostakovich's Concerto No.2 performed by the People's Artist, pianist Yegana Akhundova, as well as "Nizaminin xatirəsinə" (In Memory of Nizami) by Fikret Amirov, "Bahar valsı" (Spring Waltz) by Shamsi Badalbeyli and two dances by Gara Garayev – performed by the orchestra.
As part of the festival, the teachers of the Baku Music Academy will perform at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center on August 2 at 05:00 p.m. A mugham evening will be held on the open-air stage at 9:00 p.m. the same day.
