Teachers of the Baku Music Academy performed at the Gabala festival

On August 2, being the third day of the very successful 12th Gabala Music Festival, teachers of the Hajibeyov Baku Academy of Music presented an ambitious concert program at the Heydar Aliyev Congress Center. The event was held with participation of the representatives of hosting organizations, as well as local admirers of music and guests of the city. The concert started with the performance of "Jangi" by Uzeyir Hajibeyov. The laureate of national and international competitions, pianist Fagan Hasanli performed solo. The concert was followed by the song "Ay üzlü nigarım" (My moon-faced sweetheart), written by a veteran of the Patriotic War, laureate of national and international competitions, composer Vugar Mammadzade with lyrics by Nizami Ganjavi. Soloist Atesh Garayev was accompanied by Honored Artist Ilham Najafzade (nai), laureates of national and international competitions Farida Alakbarli (harp), Akbar Mammadov (darbuka) and Orkhan Huseynov (cello). The concert also featured "Spanish Dance" by M. de Falla, "Lullaby" by J.Brahms, "Roll-call of the birds" by J. Rameau, "Ballad" by Jovdat Hajiyev, etc. The Azerbaijani folk song "Guləbatın" (Gulabatin) and "Lumen" by J.Blanco, performed by the vocal ensemble of the Baku Music Academy "Lumineux", stole the hearts of the audience. The concert program also featured performances by the "Clarte" clarinet quartet, namely Anar Mammadov, Emil Baghirov, Muhammadali Pashazade and Mammad Rajabli: "Sən mənimsən, mən sənin" (You are mine, I am yours) by Tofig Guliyev, "Yollar" (Roads) by Vagif Mustafazade, and "American feeling" by I.Volante. Following the festival program, a mugham evening will be presented to the audience on the open-air stage (at the Qafqaz Resort Hotel) at 9:00 p.m.
