The final stage of World Cup competitions in Olympic shooting was finished in Gabala.

The final stage of World Cup competitions in Olympic shooting was completed at the Gabala Complex of Trap Shooting and Archery. On October 27 the final stage of World Cup competitions with the joint organizational support of "Gabala" Shooting Club and Azerbaijan Shooting Sport Federation, with support of the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sports was completed. At the last day of competition in rifle shooting at 50 meters among men the first place was taken by Daniel Brodmeier (Germany), second place - Sengbe Zao (China), third place - Henry Yunghenel (Germany), in a skeet trap shooting competitions among women first place was taken by Albina Shakirova (Russia), second place - Meng Wei (China), third place - Danka Bartekova (Serbia), among men Di Jing (China) took first place, Azmi Mehelby (Egypt) the second one, Alexander Zemlin (Russia) the third one. The representative of Azerbaijan Emin Jafarov, representing "Gabala" Shooting Club, in qualifying competitions on skeet trap shooting reached the final stage of the World Cup in shooting. In the final stage our athlete took 5th place. Among women - Nurlana Jafarova reached the 7th place. In the competition on the number of cups and medals, the first place was taken by the team from Russia, China athletes are on the second place, and the shooters from Germany on the third.
The closing ceremony was attended by the senior officials of the "Gabala" Shooting Club, Azerbaijan Shooting Federation, the International Shooting Sport Federation and the European Shooting Confederation. During the event, it was noted that the competition, which lasted five days, was attended by 280 athletes in types of pistol and trap shooting, having a special place in the world league table. And before this competition 7 qualifying stages passed during this year in different countries (Tucson (USA), Fort Benning (USA), Munich (Germany), Granada (Spain), Maribor (Slovenia) and Almaty (Kazakhstan). In these competitions, the athletes that took place gaining points in the world rankings won the right to participate in the final stage of the World Cup competition in Gabala. In accordance with the schedule of the International Shooting Sport Federation, the tournament is considered the most important competition after the European and World Championships. In total more than 500 athletes and guests from 40 countries participate in the finals, held in Gabala. Our country was represented in these international competitions by Nurlana Jafarova and Emin Jafarov in skeet trap shooting, Irada Ashumova and Ruslan Lunev in pistol shooting.
In conclusion, the general secretary of the International Shooting Sport Federation Franz Schreiber granted diplomas and medals to the responsible executives of "Gabala" Sports Club and "Gabala" Shooting Club for organisation of the competition at the high level.
