A monument-fountain complex has been built to immortalize the memory of the martyrs in Gabala

The monument-fountain complex built to immortalize the memory of the martyrs of the Great Patriotic War was opened in Mikhligovag village of Gabala region. The complex houses memorial plaques to the National Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan, General Polad Hashimov, who was martyred during the July 2020 battles, and the heroic sons from the village of Mikhligovag, who died and rose to the peak of martyrdom in the Great Patriotic War. The opening ceremony was attended by employees of the region’s executive power, the regional department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, family members of the martyrs and staff of the schools where they studied. Speakers spoke about the historical significance of the victory gained in the 44-day Patriotic War, which began on September 27 last year and ended with the Glory under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and stressed that their memories will never be forgotten. Family members of the martyrs expressed their gratitude to the country’s leadership for the attention and care shown to them.
