A training on “Drug addiction, its psychological causes and works to be done at schools” was held in Gabala

On November 04, an event was held in the direction of implementation of the “State Program on Combating Illicit Trafficking of Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors and Drug Addiction for 2019-2024” jointly organized by Gabala Region’s Executive Power and the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Opening the event with his introductory words, First Deputy Head of Gabala Region’s Executive Power Abil Aghasafov said that drug trafficking and drug addiction are one of the global problems of serious concern to the modern world. He also spoke about the negative effects of drugs on the human body and the serious consequences for health in the future, and called on adolescents and young people to stay away from these harmful habits. He stressed that one of the main steps in solving the problem is to expand awareness-raising activities, and gave detailed information about the preventive measures taken in the region. Tanriverdi Aydinov, Deputy Head of the Permanent Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, Shahlar Zeynalov, employee of the Main Drug Enforcement Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tural Huseynzada, Chief Adviser of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Ragif Allahverdiyev, an employee of the permanent working group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, and Asif Kangarli, Chief of the anonymous cabinet of the Republican Narcology Center of the Ministry of Health, spoke around the issues on the agenda and answered the questions of the participants. In addition, a training on “Drug addiction, its psychological causes and works to be done at schools” was held for deputy principals, class leaders, school psychologists, chairmen of parent committees on the problem of drug addiction. The participants of the trainings were awarded certificates prepared by the Working Group of the State Commission.
