An essay contest entitled “Khojaly genocide - our bloody memory” was held
On February 24, 2022, with the support of the Gabala Region Youth and Sports Department and the Region’s Education Department, the awarding ceremony of the essay contest “Khojaly genocide - our bloody memory” dedicated to the “30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide” was held among schoolchildren. The event was opened by the head of the Youth and Sports Department Fakhri Soltanov, who greeted the participants and commemorated the Khojaly victims with a minute of silence. Speakers at the event noted that the Khojaly tragedy was a genocide committed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but against humanity as a whole, on the same level as the Khatin and Hiroshima tragedies of the twentieth century. According to the results of the essay writing competition, the student of Gabala city secondary school No. 3 Azarin Salimova was awarded the 1st place, the student of Gabala city secondary school No. 5 Dibar Khalilova, the student of Vandam settlement secondary school No. 2 Azarin Muradkhan took the 2nd place, and the student of Zaraghan village secondary school No. 1 Khadija Musrafayeva, the student of Nohurgishlag village secondary school Fatima Hafizova and the student of Vandam settlement secondary school No. 1 Gullar Baghirova were awarded the 3rd places. The winners were awarded with diplomas and souvenirs from the Youth and Sports Department.
