An event was held titled "The Khojaly massacre as one of the tragic pages of the history of Azerbaijan"

The Gabala State Historical and Art Reserve and the Gabala Archaeological Center jointly organized an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly Genocide, titled "The Khojaly massacre as one of the tragic pages of the history of Azerbaijan." The event was attended by the employees of the Gabala Region Department of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Khojaly IDPs temporarily settled in our region, teachers and students of the Secondary School of Chukhur Gabala named after A.Mammadov. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the Khojaly victims. Director of the Gabala State Historical and Art Reserve Zahir Karimov in his speech mentioned that the Khojaly genocide is the most gruesome of the crimes committed against the civilian population, that after 30 years of occupation, in 2020, as a result of successful combat operations conducted in the 44-day war by the brave Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, our lands were liberated from occupation and historical justice was finally restored. The speakers stressed the invaluable goal-oriented activity of the President Ilham Aliyev for the Khojaly genocide to be recognized by the world community. At the end, the poems dedicated to the Motherland and victory were performed by schoolchildren, and a film about the Khojaly genocide was shown.
