District Chess Championship was held.
In accordance with the "State Program on Development of Chess in Azerbaijan in 2009-2014", in order to achieve mass of this sport, on December 24, 2014 with the organizational support of the Department of Youth and Sports of Gabala Region a championship in chess was held in chess school, dedicated to "December 31 - International Solidarity Day of Azerbaijanis".
A contest via the rotation system was conducted among adolescents and young people of 8-10-12-14 and 16-year-old age groups. About 60 boys and girls tried their hands in the competition.
According to the results of the competition the first place among boys was taken by Muhammed Abdullayev, Ali Karimov, Farhad Aliyev, Sabir Abdullayev, Musa Jabayev, and among girls Hajar Hasanova, Hajar Karimova, Nigar Afendiyeva and Ilaha Abdulkarimli. In each age group Winners of I, II and III places were awarded diplomas by the district department of youth and sports.
