The report meeting on socio-economic development results for 2013 and objectives to be executed in 2014 was held in Gabala. In the first instance, event participants visited Heydar Aliyev Park and laid fresh flowers at the monument of the National leader. Afterwards in the lobby of Gabala Culture Center they got familiarized with stands reflecting socio-economic development and exhibition of the products produced in the region. Opening the report meeting organized in the auditorium of Gabala Culture Center, the head of regional executive power made a detailed report on achieved successes for 2013 in Gabala and future objectives to be implemented in 2014. It was mentioned that 2013 was eventful year in political arena of our country. The most rememberable was Presidential elections, the next great political event in the modern history of independent Azerbaijan held on 9 October. It was emphasized that our wise nation voted for Heydar Aliyev’s political course, development, progress, stability, prosperous future of our country in the elections again held in high democratic conditions. The author of all our achievements, favourite leader of our nation, honourable President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev was elected the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan by a majority of votes for the next time. It was stated that socio-economic works for 2013 implemented in our country was successfully carried in Gabala region as well. The principal high-profile event occurred in the social life of the region was official visits of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, honourable Ilham Aliyev to Gabala in February and August of 2013. The head of State attended the openings of a numerous essential social and industrial facilities and got acquainted with the course of construction works during his visits. Expressing his thoughts about implemented activities, the head of state put forward new objectives. It was mentioned that product on different fields of economy costing 234890 thousand AZN was manufactured in Gabala region which is 6920 AZN or 3 percent more compared to the same period of the previous year.  Total product launch increased by 309 thousand AZN or 1,4 percent in industry, 3.054 thousand AZN or 5,7 percent in agricultural sector, 1.040 thousand AZN or 0,8 AZN in construction sector, 79 thousand AZN or 2,5 percent in transport industry, 123 thousand AZN or 19,8 percent in communication industry, 2.315 thousand AZN or 9,7 percent in trade industry during report period compared to the same period in the previous year. The general product launch per man was 2.352 AZN in this period which is 3,4 percent more compared to the same period (2.274 AZN) of the previous year. Share of non-governmental section in the production of industrial goods and provision of services was 74,0 percent.  Average monthly nominal wage of 752 employees working in industrial facilities during a year was 373 AZN which caused 17,7 percent increase compared to the previous year.  It was mentioned that 11.803 new jobs were created between October 2003 and January 1, 2014. 9.786 of them are permanent jobs. The new 860 jobs which are permanent work places were created.  Fixed capital investment was 128.242 AZN, the volume of construction and building works was 127.515 thousand AZN. Fixed capital investment increased by 1.767 thousand AZN or 1,4 percent compared to the previous year.  Local profit of the region was 9112,2 thousand AZN (104 percent) or 329,2 thousand AZN more compared to predicted revenue of 8.783,0 thousand AZN as well as the amount on local profit was 8985,8 (104 percent) thousand AZN or 353,8 thousand AZN more compared to predicted revenue of 8632,0 thousand AZN. Making speech in the report meeting deputy chief doctor of the central regional hospital Javanshir Malikov, head of regional Finance department Namig Aghayev, director of secondary school No. 2 in Gabala city Tarana Salimova, head of kindergarten in Bum settlement Rahila Sadirova provided information about successes achieved in the fields they work. Participating in the meeting, responsible executive of administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Aflatun Rufiyev highlighted the most essential aspects of economic development indicators analyzed by the head of state in the meeting of Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to socio-economic development results for 2013 and objectives to be executed in 2014 chaired by the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the measures assumed on the consolidation of position of Azerbaijan in the international communities. He state that our Republic took a permanent principal stand based on the international law and judicature and prestige of Azerbaijan had increased during two years of its activity at UN Security Council as mentioned Mr. President. He highlighted the non-constructive position taken by Armenia in the settlement of Daghlig Garabagh conflict, however stated that some revitalization had been observed at the end of 2013. Highlighting provision of 20 thousand IDPs across the Republic with the new apartments and creation of 110 thousand new jobs 80 thousand of them being permanent work places Aflatun Rufiyev noted that gross domestic product increased by 6%, non-oil sector 9,8 %, income of the population 8% and inflation was 2,4 % in 2013. It was brought to the attention of participants of the meeting that our country taking 39th place for its competitive abilities in the world would further continue to develop in social and economical sphere. Making speech at the end of report meeting on the achieved successes the chairman of Azerbaijan Republic Council of Elders, Member of Parliament Fattah Heydarov emphasized that the greatest political event of the previous year was Presidential elections held in 9 October, Azerbaijan. Member of Parliament stated that Ilham Aliyev was elected the President of independent Azerbaijan again and Gabala residents took an active part in the political campaign. Noting region residents’ high appreciation of assistance provided by the head of state for regaining of Gabala’s historical glory as well as renovation and construction works carried out here Fattah Heydarov stated that Gabala residents expressed their respect and sympathy to Mr. Ilham Aliyev with high confidence demonstrated in this political campaign. Highly appreciating the works carried out in 2013 and tireless activity of Gabala Region Executive Power, offices, facilities and organizations of the region, Member of Parliament wished health, prosperity and peace to all Gabala residents due to the execution of objectives to be achieved in 2014. Draft resolution was announced in the report meeting and application to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on behalf of meeting participants was adopted. At the end of the meeting valuable gifts and honorary awards were presented to a group of citizens making a substantial contribution to the socio-economic development of the region on the field they work.
