The North-West Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations held an event dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the January 20 Tragedy has left an indelible mark in the history of heroism of our people.
In addition to the personnel of the North-West Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the event was also attended by the representatives of the Northwest Regional State Fire Control Department of the State Fire Control Service, Gabala Region Fire Protection Unit of the State Fire Protection Service, North West Regional Inspectorate for Safety in Industry and Mining Supervision of the Northwest Regional Agency for Safety in Industry and Mining Supervision, Northwest Regional Construction Inspectorate of the State Agency for the Control of Safety in Construction.
Initially, participants of the event paid tribute to the memory of sons and daughters of the Motherland with the moment of silence, heroically killed in the name of independence of Azerbaijan.
Head of the Center Sadiq Bakirli in his speech spoke about the massacre in Azerbaijan committed by the Soviet army in the night from 19 to 20 January 1990. Noting that the murders committed on the same night by the military machine of the former Soviet state against the civilian Azerbaijani people are serious crimes against humanity, unprecedented violence with the people, that stood up and fought for national freedom and territorial integrity of the country, he stressed that the greatest political assessment of these events was given by the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Then, a video was shown on the theme "January 20 Tragedy will never be erased from the bloody memory of the Azerbaijani people."
Then, Section Head of the Centre for Public Relations and Promotion Goshgar Azizov, senior consultant of the general sector Jeykhun Babayev, head of the North West Regional Construction Inspectorate Gadir Hajiyev, head of Gabala Region Fire Protection Unit Arzu Umuyev, Principal Consultant - Chief Inspector of the North West Regional Inspectorate for Safety in Industry and Mining Supervision Seymur Shirinov told in detail about the valor of the sons and daughters of the motherland, heroically killed in the name of independent Azerbaijan, historically heroism of the Azerbaijani people to preserve traditions of statehood, integrity, historic areas, spiritual values and, most importantly, independence.
The event concluded with the statement, "At any time, by the order of the Supreme Commander, every citizen of Azerbaijan is ready to vigorously fight for the independence of our country, and, if necessary, to give their lives for this sacred idea!".
