The memory of the Khojaly genocide was honored.
The secondary schools, institutions, enterprises and organizations of the region hosted activities on Remembrance Day in connection with the 23rd anniversary of Khojaly tragedy. On February 19, Gabala District Police Office organized event on the anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy. The event was opened with opening remarks by the Deputy Chief of Police Department, Police Major Aladdin Nuhov. Participants of the event honoured the memory of our compatriots who died in Khojaly tragedy with a moment of silence. Aladdin Nuhov noted that the massacre in Khojaly is a genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis. Our people should never forget about the bloody genocide, committed by our notorious neighbors, the younger generation should be regularly informed about this terrible event.
To make a speech about the historical roots and consequences of Khojaly tragedy floor was given to an employee of the "Gabala" newspaper Gudrat Samadov. Speaker noted that the Khojaly tragedy is rooted in ancient pages of history. Armenians have always had a treacherous attitude towards the indigenous population of the territory where they have historically lived as guests, in particular with respect to the Turks and Azerbaijanis. As early as the VIII century for many years courageously fought against the Arab Caliphate folk hero Babak fell the victim of betrayal of the Armenians. After the occupation of the Caucasus by Tsarist Russia betrayal of Armenians proved to be even more pronounced. Outcast and beggar Armenians living around the world, with the support of Tsarist Russia settled on the ancient and ancestral land of Azerbaijan, were hostile to our people. Genocide committed in Khojaly on February 28, 1992 by bloodthirsty Armenians, compared with the previous cases of bloodshed was committed with even greater ferocity and brutality.
In 1994, at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev, Khojaly tragedy has been hailed by the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic as genocide committed against Azerbaijanis by Armenian vandals. Unfortunately, the world international organizations, responsible for peace, did not give a real political assessment of the Khojaly tragedy.
At the event a resident of Khojaly, Police Major Ramin Kazimov, deputy chief of the Gabala Region Police Department Ramin Gadirov and other participants expressed their opinion in connection with Khojaly genocide.
