An areawide event dedicated to the International Women's Day - March 8th was held.
An event dedicated to the International Women's Day - March 8th was held at "Qafqaz Karvansaray" hotel. The event was opened by the Deputy Head of District Executive Power, Head of the Department on Socio-Political and Humanitarian Affairs Ms. Ataya Osmanova. The floor was then turned over to the Head of District Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev. Congratulating women on International Women's Day - March 8th, Head of DEP noted that Azerbaijani women for centuries played a crucial role in the public life of our country and our people. Passing through all the trials of time with their heads held high today Azerbaijani women are the driving force of a democratic, secular and legal society of our independent country. It was brought to the attention that our national leader Heydar Aliyev attached utmost importance to effective implementation of policies related to the role of women in society, their wide representation in scientific, cultural, educational, health, sport and other fields. It was noted that the wise policy of the Great Leader is successfully continued by the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev. The result of far-sighted policies pursued by our esteemed President, is that today our women are known not only in Azerbaijan but also outside our country, proudly represent our country in international structures, occupy a worthy place among the women of the world due to their intelligence, talents, organizational skills and high national and spiritual qualities. Then group of women actively involved in social and political life of the region were awarded prizes and diplomas of the District Executive Power. The event was continued with a concert program.
