Gabala hosted an open memorial tournament in multiathlon sports.
In connection with the "March 31 - Day of Genocide against Azerbaijanis" Gabala Region Department of Youth and Sports, memorial tournament in multiathlon combat sports was held in the village Vandam.
At the opening of the tournament Head of Region Department of Youth and Sports Fakhri Soltanov told about the goals and objectives of the competition. Then Azerbaijanis killed in the genocide were commemorated with a moment of silence.
After the opening ceremony competition was started and mat was handed over to the athletes of 6 age groups in 16 weight categories. At the memorial tournament 80 athletes contested.
As a result of the memorial tournament Department of Youth and Sports awarded the athletes who took the I, II, III places in each weight category with diplomas and medals.
