Zonal competitions in freestyle wrestling among juniors.
With the organizational support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports from 1 to 4 April the zonal competitions of national championship in wrestling among juniors of 2001-2002 years of birth were held in Gabala.
The aim of the competition is to promote wrestling in the country, healthy lifestyles among adolescents, and the development of physical culture and sports in the regions, as well as improve sports skills of teenagers, prepare candidates for national teams and rationally use the Olympic Sports Complexes.
The competition was attended by teams of youth sports schools, companies, clubs and the Olympic Sports Complexes. Competitions are of private nature.
In the zonal stage of national championship fight in 16 weight categories was among 160 athletes from 16 cities and regions.
In conclusion of the competition wrestlers who have taken I, II and III places in each weight category won the license for the final stage to be held in Balakan district.
