The republican tour of the Academic Olympics came to the end.
The educational policy, the basis of which was laid by the national leader Heydar Aliyev is successfully continued under the leadership of the State President Mr. Ilham Aliyev. One of the important conditions which characterize the future and independence of the nation, the state, is the improvement, development of the education system.
In order to identify talented children in schools, this year on the background of reforms in the country a republican Academic Olympics was held on the basis of approved by the Ministry of Education "Rules of the organization and conduct of Academic Olympics" in the 2014-2015. Olympics consisted of two rounds - regional and republican. On January 11 in the first round over Gabala region, 380 students of IX-XI classes participated in the competition. Students' written works were checked by the jury, approved by the Ministry of Education; as a result 54 people passed to the semifinals of Academic Olympics. The semifinal tour on March 15 in the Sheki town was also successful for our students; on various subjects 7 students took III place, and 6 students - II place. And 7 students with the highest scores, winning the zonal tour, won the ticket to the final round, which will be held in Baku.
In the final stage, starting on April 18 in the city of Baku, 450 students from 58 different regions of Azerbaijan participated. 240 students, who tested their knowledge in the intense competition of the tour, were among the winners.
At the Olympics 5 students from Gabala, demonstrating the high knowledge, were awarded 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals and valuable gifts of the Ministry of Education.
