Gabala started the third stage of the "Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2015" international cycling race.
On May 8, with support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, National Olympic Committee and the International Cycling Union, started Stage III of the international cycle tour "Tour d'Azerbaidjan- 2015 ", which consists of 5 stages, organized by the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan, dedicated to the 92 anniversary of the birth of the national leader of Azerbaijan people Heydar Aliyev.
25 teams, which started in front of the Executive Power of Gabala region and representing 24 countries, covered the distance of 177.2 kilometers on the route of "Gabala-Oghuz-Sheki-Oghuz-Gabala". First reaching the finish line British cyclist Joshua Thomas Edmondson won the title of winner. He overcame the distance in 4 hours 7 minutes 28 seconds. Second place went to Slovenia team member Marco Kump, and the third one to the member of Azerbaijan "Synerqy Baku" team Matei Mugerli. Another member of the "Synergy Baku" - Alexander Surutkovich winning the mountainous part, became the owner of the red shirt, Primosh Roglich won the blue shirt for the lead in the early stage, and Frantisek Sisr was awarded a purple shirt, as the youngest winner.
Then according to the results of the third stage, the award ceremony of the international cycling tour "Tour d`Azerbaidjan-2015" was held. The awards were handed out to the athletes by the head of the organizing committee of cycling race, Vice-President of Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan Sahib Alakbarov and the Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev.
