Regional competition among teenagers in boxing
Regional competitions among teenagers aged 13-14 years in boxing included in the program of IX Republican Olympic Games of Teenagers, were conducted in Gabala Olympic Sports Complex with the organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sport. The objective of holding the competition is the development of boxing in the Republic, injecting healthy lifestyle to the teenagers, increasing the role of physical education and sport in their patriotic upbringing, further development and promotion physical education and sport in the regions of the Republic, as well as increasing the sports skills of young people, preparation of candidates for national teams and effective use of Olympic Sport Complexes. Children’s and Youth Sports School, teams of society, club and Olympic Sport Complexes took part in the competition. Competitions are of personal nature. Up to 170 boxers from 23 cities and regions of the Republic in 16 weight category have struggled in regional championship. According to the final result of the competition wrestlers from each weight category taking I and II places won licenses to the final stage to be held in Balakan region.
