Winners of the 4th Young Rescuer and Firefighter Republican Championship and 3rd Young Rescuer International Competition were awarded.

The Closing ceremony of the 4th Young Rescuer and Firefighter Republican Championship and 3rd Young Rescuer International Competition was held dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and carried out by the organization of Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and joint support of the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sport. Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Ismayil Ismayilov attended the final event held in “Yeddi Gozal” hotel in Gabala region. At first, Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov has met with members of the teams in the place of competition, got acquainted with the conditions established for team training, clothing, physical and tactical preparation and feeding of them and got interested in emergency preparedness, their trainings and skills to use different techniques of rescuer and firefighter teams. Then the teams successfully completed operations for extinguishing conventional fire in the “Yeddi Gozal” hotel, rescue of people in helpless conditions, under threat of drowning and falling into a deep well. Afterwards, awarding ceremony beginning with playing of National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held in Gabala Cultural Centre. It was reported that at first, regional competitions of the 4th Young rescuer and firefighter republican championship were held in the different regions of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the MES and the teams achieving the best results gained access to the final. It was noted that participant teams from 17 cities and regions, as well as representatives from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Moldova have fought for the first place in five stages – “Obstacle course”, “Combined fire relay”, “Search and rescue operations, “Presentation of teams” and “Young experts”. Video prepared by the MES about the 4th Young Rescuer and Firefighter Republican Championship and final stage of the 3rd Young Rescuer International Competition held in Gabala was shown during the ceremony. Performing national dances and singing by the members of local and foreign teams participating in the competition lent color to the ceremony. Minister of education Mikayil Jabbarov and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Ismayil Ismayilov made a speech at the event and congratulated Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov and collective of the Ministry on the occasion of the 10th anniversary and wished success in their hard and honorable work. Speakers stated that main object of holding this competition every year is enhancing training level of adults and youth for emergency situations, instilling responsibility for personal and public security to the students and military patriotism spirit to the youth and promotion of healthy lifestyle. Adults and youth learn how to act in the cases of emergency situations through this competition and show interest for this field. Holding these competitions provides great opportunities for youth to gain experience fighting against emergencies. Young foreign rescuers thanked the Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan for holding such a high level event. Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov presented awards to Siyazan region team who won nationwide competitions and Russian team who won international competition and wished success to the young firefighters and rescuers. It was reported that Russian team won first place in the international competition, Azerbaijan team took second place and Belarus third place. And Siyazan team won first place in the Republican competitions, Nizami district team of Baku took second place and Ismayilli team third place.
