Commemorative event dedicated to the twenty-second anniversary of the Khojaly genocide was held in Gabala Region Executive Power.

In connection with the twenty-second anniversary of Khojaly genocide, the meeting  of  public representatives, intellectuals and  respected  persons with  the  Khojaly families  settled  in  Gabala   was  held  in  Region Executive  Power  and  commemoration ceremony  took place  in memory of those killed in the massacre. At the  event, Head  of  REP   Sabuhi Abdullayev  made  a  detailed  report  about  "Khojaly genocide", written  in history  of mankind as the  most  brutal and  merciless  massacre  committed  by  Armenian  vandals  in Khojaly on  the night from 25 to 26 February, 1992. Orator reminded the participants of ceremony that, Armenia  ignoring  the  protocols  of  the  Geneva  Convention  with barbarism which is  contrary to the  law  of  war  dealt with  peaceful  inhabitants, committed  massacre against them, completely  destroyed and  ruined   Khojaly city with a population of 7000. Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev stressed that consistent deliberate policy pursued by the Head of State, honorable President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of the recognition of the Khojaly genocide by the international community as well as an international propaganda campaign "Justice for Khojaly" launched  at the initiative of the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, give positive results and noted that      the  genocide  have  already  been  recognized  by  many  states and  Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and  giving  of  legal-political assessment  to  the genocide  has  been commenced. 
Afterwards, the reporter  who stressed that  Khojaly  people  as well as  all our compatriots displaced  from  their  lands  are surrounded by the  state care and   that  all the  works  implemented  by  the Head  of State  in the direction   of  involvement  of all the  displaced persons in the  social assistance programs, keeping  their  employment  in attention, provision of  privileged individuals  with  allowance and  grants, exemption  of  those  entered  into  higher schools  on a  paid basis  from payments,  improvement  of   living and housing conditions of  citizens  who lost their homes in the occupied areas  have  been  strengthened. At the end,  Head  of  REP noted  that  today  Azerbaijan  has a  strong  economic and  military  potential  and  said  to the  ceremony  participant  that  day of liberation of our lands and victory is  not  far.
Khojaly  residents  Kamal Mammadov,  Giyas  Ahmadov,  Chairman of the regional organization of the Red Crescent Society Sadagat  Bayramova, member  of the Gabala community Gudrat  Samadov and internally displaced person from  Shusha  city  Ahad  Hasanov  made a speech  at  commemoration event.
