Two more athletes won licenses for Summer Olympic Games during the competition in Gabala.

The competitions for the World Cup in Olympic Shooting continue with success in Gabala Complex of Trap Shooting and Archery. On August 9, 108 men athletes competed for the awards in skeet and trap shooting. Two-time Olympic champion Vincent Hancock (USA), Sebastian Kuntsik (Austria) and Gabriele Rossetti (Italy) took the first, second, and third places, respectively. The athletes who took the first two places, won the licenses for the Summer Olympic Games to be held next year in Brazil. The athletes were presented medals by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismayil Ismayilov and Secretary General of International Shooting Sport Federation France Schreiber. In the competitions with the participation of Olympic and world champions, Emin Jafarov, Niyaz Aghazada and Pasha Ahadpur representing Azerbaijan took 28, 64 and 88th places, respectively. More than 50 athletes who won medals at the Olympic Games have been involved in the competitions for the World Cup. In addition, more than 100 shooters are the winners of the World Championships. Including the athletes who became the Olympic champions for three and four times. About 2,000 athletes from almost 100 countries attend the final stage of the competition for the World Cup, organized by Gabala Shooting Club and Azerbaijan Shooting Federation with the support of National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Olympic shooting, which holds a special place in the world rankings. Athletes compete for 34 licenses to the Summer Olympics 2016 in Brazilian capital Rio de Janeiro. Our country is represented in these honorable competitions by 27 athletes. We would remind that the competitions in pistol shooting at 10 and 25 meters for women and 50 meters for men are held today. Azerbaijan is represented by women athletes Nigar Nasirova, Zarifa Gasimova, Hayala Huseynli, Leyla Mirzazada, Rubaba Guluzada, Ulviyya Eyvazova and men athletes Ulfan Akhundov, Elvin Astanov, Mammadali Abdullayev and Rasul Mammadov.
