Iranian athletes won gold and bronze medals at the competition for the World Cup in Gabala.
Competition for the World Cup in Olympic shooting is successfully continued in the Gabala Shotgun and Archery Complex. The final stage of the competition among women for shooting from air rifle at a distance of 10 meters was completed on August 10, 2015. At the competition the athletes from Iran and China won awards, overwhelmed competitors from other countries. Three of the eight athletes who participated in the final stage of the competition, held in an tense atmosphere, were shooters from Iran. Ilaha Ahmedy (Iran) took first place with 207.8 points, Bingbin Zhang (China) - the second place 207.4 points, Nezhmeh Hedmati (Iran) - third place 185.5 points. Finally, the winners were awarded. The Executive chief of Gabala region Sabuhi Abdullayev attended the award ceremony. Shooting competition from small-caliber pistol at a distance of 25 meters among women, and from a pistol at a distance of 50 meters among men are going on. The winners of these competitions will be decided on August 11, 2015. At competitions in shooting from a pistol and rifle Azerbaijan is represented by Nigar Nasirova, Zarifa Gasimova, Khayala Huseynli, Leyla Mirzazade, Rubaba Guluzade, Ulviyya Eyvazova - among women, and by Ulfan Akhundov, Elvin Astanov, Mammadali Abdullayev and Rasul Mammadov - among men. Note that at shooting competition going on for three days to date eight athletes won licenses for the Summer Olympic Games in Brazil next year.
