Gabala celebrated the harvest festival within the "Field days".

On August 28 in the framework of "Field days" in Gabala region the harvest festival of national importance was celebrated.This event reflecting the latest innovations and opportunities in the agricultural sector was attended by about 300 local and foreign companies, more than 2,000 representatives of farmers. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilham Guliyev, the Head of the Gabala region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, director of the agriculture sector, the chairman of the organizing committee of «Gilan Holdinq» Abulfaz Malikov, director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, academician Vagif Abbasov. While appreciating the importance of the "Field days" held in Gabala in May and August as part of the "Year of Agriculture" for the first time in our country, the speakers pointed out that along with the presentation of the latest innovations and opportunities in the agricultural sector, the purpose of the event is to unite consumers and exporters, develop farms and households, including to provide more accurate and simple information about agriculture to the business entities. Speaking at the meeting, the Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev noted the achievement of significant progress in recent years in all areas, the formation of our country as initiator and a major participant in transnational projects, creation of the modern agricultural infrastructure in the regions, the beginning of the activities of agricultural establishments, based on the latest technologies, business support, important steps towards improving the business environment and agricultural production, capable of high competition. Sabuhi Abdullayev said that thanks to the economic policy implemented by the President Ilham Aliyev, the regions have reached a new level of quality development. He said that the declaration of 2015 in Azerbaijan as the "Year of Agriculture" by the Decree signed by Mr. President in January this year proves once again that the development of the field of agriculture in the country is an important area of public policy. The aim of the decree is to provide new impetus to the overall development of agriculture and acceleration of its modernization, ensure a systematic and comprehensive approach to resolving the problems existing in the agricultural sector, involve the administrative and financial resources of the state in this area in an effective form, and promote the agricultural potential of the country. Sabuhi Abdullayev said that the favorable climatic conditions pave the way to achieve great success on the basis of the scientific and technical approach in agriculture, cultivate and process organic products in the Gabala region, in this regard, he reported an increase in efforts for the further development of animal husbandry, extension agriculture, horticulture and viticulture. In the speeches, it was reported that every farmer engaged in agriculture, within the "Field days" in Gabala from May to August performed planting, cultivation, harvest, on a plot of 28 hectares. In this area they cultivated melons, vegetables and legumes. In addition, 4 companies engaged in agricultural machinery, presented their equipment, 6 companies related to the sale of fertilizers, 2 companies on foraging, 11 companies in crop and seed production, as well as «Gilan Holdinq», being the most famous Azerbaijani company, demonstrated manufactured products of various assortment. After the presentations, the event participants familiarized themselves with the exhibition of agricultural products, vegetable products, agricultural machinery, fertilizers, food, drinks and juices, laboratory equipment, crop production, animal husbandry. About 50 firms and companies showed their products at the exhibition. At the ceremony for the most successful achievements within the "Field Days" project, 4 heads of companies was awarded an honorary diploma "Golden worker". The event was attended by the representatives of the public organizations, foreign embassies, NGOs, educational institutions, research institutes and entrepreneurs working in the agricultural sector.
