The measures are taken for protection against runoff waters on the mountain rivers of Gabala.
Works are continued on the mountain rivers for protection of Gabala city and villages against runoff waters. In the region in order to prevent runoff waters and for preparation for the winter season, bank protection works and works on strengthening the dams are held on the Tikanly-Garachay, Hamzali, Turyanchay, Demiraparan and Bum rivers, the bottoms of the rivers are cleared of silt and gravel. For the work on protection against runoff waters of five major mountain rivers crossing the territory of Gabala, the necessary number of modern technology and manpower was attracted to the site. The main purpose of this work is to prevent flooding that may occur in the winter and spring months. Particular attention is paid to the strength of the dams. According to experts, concrete dams poured on an iron frame, are able to resist the strong runoff waters. Note that since the beginning of the year and to date, the bottoms of the rivers are cleared of 531 thousand cubic meters of silt, bank protection works are carried out on the territory of 5446 meters.
