Today is the professional holiday of workers of the postal sector. On the occasion of October 9 - World Post Day, the employees of Gabala District Postal Branch celebrated their professional holiday. First, postal workers laid flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev, honored the great leader. Then, in the auditorium of the branch a meeting was held on the occasion of the professional holiday. Addressing the meeting, head of the district postal branch Rauf Karimov told about reforms conducted in our country in the field of postal services and achievements in this field. It has been brought to the attention that the Universal Postal Union, currently combining the 193 countries of the world, a member of which is also Azerbaijan, turned into a structure implementing activities in close contact, not only in the postal sector, but also with other international organizations. It was noted that after gaining the state independence by our republic, as a result of a successful policy, the foundation of which was laid by the great son of our people Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by our esteemed President Ilham Aliyev, the work of post and telecommunications in the country also changed radically and a new stage of development started, Azerbaijan became a full member of several international associations and organizations in the field of postal services, has created international direct mail communication with most countries of the world. During the event it has been said that our postal service, which builds its activities in accordance with the standards of the Universal Postal Union, has achieved the steady development.
