Gabala District Central Library replenished with inventory and technical equipment.
Special attention is paid to enrichment of libraries operating in the Gabala region with new editions. According to the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated on January 12, 2004 "On the implementation of mass publications in Azerbaijani language in Latin graphics" each year hundreds of new books are donated from various sources to region libraries. Currently, the general fund of the central library system of the region has more than 145 thousand books. These books cover various areas of science and literature. The library also works with the "IRBIS 64" program. By means of this program the electronic cataloging of all types of literature in the library is implemented. In addition, registration of readers, card file of newspaper articles, retro catalogue, local history, children's literature, CD ROMs and other bases are created in the program. The volume of all types of electronic resource on these bases is over 100 thousand. Also the Automated Library Information System was created in Gabala Centralized Library System provided by the Internet. The library commissioned a new website. Currently, the district libraries serve more than 18 thousand readers.
