Gabala especially protects the valuable chestnut trees aged 800-1000 years

In Gabala, the rare thousand-year chestnut trees are protected as a natural monument. At the present time Gabala has on the territory 386 hectares of chestnut plantations. In the current year on the territory of 5 hectares of state forest fund, 5,500 seedlings of chestnut type "Khanlyg" were planted, they are famous for high quality, tasty and large fruits. At the same time, large-diameter valuable chestnut trees aged 500-800 years, of 30-40 meters in height are specially protected in the woods and on the farms. And in the Hamzali village of the district, 10 units of rare chestnut trees aged 800-1000 years, 2-2.5 meters in diameter, were included in the list of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources as monuments of nature.
