Azerbaijan National NGO Forum in cooperation with the Working Group of the State Commission on Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs held an event on "The role of civil society in the fight against drug addiction" in the Tourism and Hotel Business Vocational Training Center in the framework of the "State Program for fight against illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors and drug abuse on 2013-2018". Opening the event with the introductory speech first deputy head of the district executive power, chairman of the district commission to Combat Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in Drugs Abil Aghasafov, spoke in detail about the relevance of the topic and the work done in the region in this direction. Then, the speeches were made on the subject by the deputy head of the Working Group of the State Commission on Combat Illicit Trafficking in Drugs Vasif Guliyev, chairperson of the Center for Cooperation of Azerbaijanis and other Turkic peoples Ilham Ismayilov, chairperson of the "Chirag" Center for Psychological Research and Support Vusala Khalilova, President of the National NGO Forum, a member of the State Commission Rauf Zeyni, head of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Gabala Region Police Station, Lieutenant-Colonel Azer Jafarov. They also informed the meeting participants about the measures implemented in our country in this area, urged every citizen to become an active advocate in the fight against drug addiction.
