Participants of archaeological tourism gathered in Gabala.

With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and with participation of the representatives of travel agencies and media, the route of cultural tourism called "Archaeological tourism in Azerbaijan" started. The first point of the info-tour which is of great importance in the promotion of the cultural values of our people, their more effective use for tourism purposes, as well as the development of tourism in the region, was Chukhur-Gabala village of our region. Participants learned about the Gabala Archaeological Center, situated in the territory of the State Historical-Artistic Reserve of Gabala. They were provided with information about the three-storey building area of 6150 square meters, the exhibition hall, the archaeological foundation, restoration laboratory, a conference hall and the rooms, where archaeologists work, the exhibits were shown related to the II-III centuries, found on the territory of Salbir in 2013. It has been brought to the attention that an important role in revealing the rich history of Gabala has the work done in recent years by the Azerbaijan-Korean Cultural Exchange Association (SEBA). As a result of archaeological research and excavations conducted by Azerbaijani scientists in cooperation with Korean specialists, the undiscovered pages of Gabala history were known. Samples of material culture obtained during successive archaeological excavations carried out in the region since 2005, are stored in Gabala Archaeological Center with the support of SEBA. Then participants got acquainted with the remains of house, found on the territory of the ancient Salbir settlement.
