Uzbekistan web portals write about Gabala
Uzbekistan web portals 1.news.uz uchildiz.uz and podrobno.uz have released an article named “Gabala – The ancient city of Azerbaijan and the shining star of tourism”. Article says that, Gabala which has been the capital of Caucasian Albania for 900 years is located at the southern side of the Greater Caucasus Mountain, 220 kilometers away from Baku. It is stated that, the ruins of the ancient city which was the capital of Caucasian Albania and "Gala Gapisi” which was considered the main gate has been protected as monument and came up to the present and there are many historical and cultural monuments from various periods in the territory. By indicating grandeur of remains of “Kilsadag mebedi” from IV-VIII centuries in the village of Amili, mausoleum complex of Seykh Badraddin and Sheykh Mansur from XV century in the village of Hazra and mosque from XIX century in the village of Bum, it is also stated that there are many other similar monuments in this territory. In the article, as a result of the archeological excavations conducted near the village of Chukhur Gabala, it is mentioned that it was proven that Gabala was a developed trade, art center and one of the biggest cities of Azerbaijan from B.C. IV-III centuries to C. XVIII century. It is displayed that, Gabala which was called Gutgashin at Soviet times was rich with historical and architectural monuments and during the excavations unique cultural examples were detected. It’s also stated that, charming nature and mild climate of the region open new perspectives for the development of tourism, and significant works are done for the development of tourism in Gabala today. In the article, where it is stated that five-star hotels and brand restaurants operate in Azerbaijani tourist resort Gabala, is highlighted that conditions in accordance with modern standards were created for the rest of the tourists and visitors. In the article, information is also given about “Gabaland” which is the biggest park attraction under the open sky in Azerbaijan. It is noted that, well-known ”Tufandag” winter-summer tourism complex operates in Gabala where the important works are done for the development of winter tourism in recent years. Moreover, it is noted that, Gabala has become a cultural center of Azerbaijan and since 2009 international music festivals are held in this city with the initiative and support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation every year. In the end of the article a quotation is cited from the speech of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev related to Gabala “Gabala has turned into the culture and tourism center of Azerbaijan”.
