Region-wide Novruz celebration was held in Gabala.
There was the triumph of joy and freshness of spring, labour passion, benevolence, signs of kindness, internal and spiritual awakening in the faces of the audience gathered for the dramatized holiday event organized in a large square of the city in front of “Qafqaz Sport Hotel”.Ceremony performances were shown around the bonfire burning in the square and samples of colourful folklore were presented to the participants of the event demonstrating nation’s rich national traditions. Characters of Novruz - “Bahar giz” (spring girl), Dada Gorgud, “Kosa (the bearded)” and “Kechal (the bald) wished pleasant spring mood, tranquillity, prosperity, abundance to the people. Folklore groups scattered across the square showed comedies, folk masters demonstrated a variety of samples of applied art. Dangerous and marvellous tricks of rope walker excited the audience. Diverse candies, khonchas, dried fruit, samanis and other holiday cookies decorated Novruz tables laid in the square.Head of Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev attended the event, congratulated all Gabala residents on this remarkable day – Novruz holiday, wished each family happiness, plentiful abundance and good health. The speaker emphasized that Novruz, one of the most beautiful holidays that independence bestowed us, was celebrated with great solemnity in Azerbaijan, developing under the leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev day by day, noted that this day our nation mentioned entered into spring, new wishes and intentions. At the end of his speech Sabuhi Abdullayev told holiday participants that better days, blessedness and prosperous life expected our nation. Wide concert program prepared by the staff of the region’s Department of Culture and Tourism further enhanced the holiday mood of event attendees.
