Conference on the subject of "The End to Violence" was held.
Conference on "The End to Violence" was held in Cultural Centre of Gabala Region in order to raise the awareness of public towards prevention of violence in accordance with the action plan for "State program on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2008-2015". Rana Mahmudova, the Director of the Region Family and Children Support Center, opened the conference with her opening speech. At the beginning a slideshow was presented regarding the events held by the Center on the violation until now. Afterwards, Zinyat Baghirova, the Member of the Monitoring Group, the Director of Registration Department of the Region, gave a report on the subject of "The End to Violence" and drew attention to the laws adopted in this field, effects of psychological and physical damages inflicted on the spirit of men, women and children as the result of violation against them. With reference to the changes to the Family Code towards strengthening cooperation for preventing child marriage the reporter stressed the need for increasing efforts to raise the awareness of public around this issue. During the Conference the Member of the Monitoring Group, Senior Assistant of the Region Prosecutor Ruslan Aghayev, the Head of Youth and Sports Department of Gabala Region Fakhri Soltanov, the Inspector of the Police Office on the cases of minors Azer Huseyinov, the Deputy Executive Officer of Vandam settlement Azad Khitilov, and others made their speeches and emphasized the works carried out in this field. In conclusion, the participants of the Conference exchanged views on the ways to eliminate domestic violence.
