Nearly 300 students from eight regions with the students from Gabala got familiar with sightseeing of Gusar within the framework of educative tour-campaign organised with the motto of “Learning our country” on November 17. In the first half of the day our students were in “Shahdag” Tourism Centre in Gusar region. They were informed of the conditions, resting and entertainment types provided here. It was noted that the foundation of Shahdag” Tourism Centre was laid down by the participation of President Ilham Aliyev in September 2009. Besides providing extensive opportunities to engage in mountain ski and other winter sport types in our country, this centre increases the attention of foreign tourist toward our republic. Later the students visited “Sheikh Juneyd” shrine in Hazra village of Gusar. They were told that this shrine is one of the monuments that were constructed in XVI century in Azerbaijan and that were heirloom of Safavids. Sheikh Juneyd was killed by Shirvanshahs during his military parade to Shirvan in XV century and buried in Hazra village. It is written on the grave that the shrine was built in 1544. The participants of tour-campaign looked through the photos reflecting the rich heritage and activity of the nationwide leader in Heydar Aliyev Centre in Gusar city. They were informed of invaluable works done by the great leader for the sake of dynamic development of Azerbaijan, protecting and strengthening our independency. The students got closely acquainted with Gusar Historical and Ethnographic Museum and art gallery, too. The participants viewed Gusar city from Flag Square located 689 meters above sea level.
