New forests establishment with valuable trees
The protection and restoration of the forests are always kept on the centre of attraction in Gabala. Current year the season of new afforestation process has been started in the region. According to the plan, the establishment of new forests is taken into account in 30 ha area in the lands of state forest foundation in Bum, Vendam, Yenikend and Zaraghan areas of the region in autumn-winter season. Planting trees in 15 ha area in Yenikend and Zaraghan woodlands has been carried out till today and now this process is being implementing in this direction. The saplings of walnut, chestnut, acacia, hornbeam, ash, maple, oak, beech and other types of trees are planted in the area. Woodmen of the region have collected 2310 kg valuable tree seeds for planting. 900 kg out of these is oak, 600 kg is walnut, 500 kg is chestnut, 150 kg is ash, 150 kg is maple, and 10 kg is thuja. Currently planting seed is also being implemented in the area, besides planting trees. Planting seed has been carried out in 1 ha area till today. The collectives of the region forest protection and restoration office are planning to plant new saplings in 2 ha area this year and to grow 240 thousand saplings there. Establishment of forests is taken into in account in 30 ha area in Gabala in the spring of the next year.
