Regional competition on Greco-Roman wrestling among teenagers was held in the region.
The regional competitions on Greco-Roman wrestling, included in the program of the IX Republican Games, among teenagers born in 2000-2001 was held with the organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Teenagers in Gabala Olympic Sports Complex.The purpose of the competition is improving Greco-Roman wrestling in the Republic, injecting the teenagers with healthy lifestyle, develop and promote physical culture and sport regions further, as well as improving sports skills of the teenagers, preparing candidates for national teams and using Olympic Sports Complexes effectively. Children and Youth Sports School, societies, clubs and teams of the Olympic Sports Complexes took part in the competition. Competitions are of personal character. 180 wrestlers from 12 cities and regions of the Republic competed in regional championship in the weight category 16. In accordance with the final result of the competition, wrestlers of every weight category winning I, II, II places gained lisences for the final stage to be held in Balakan region.
