The district chess championship was held.
In order to ensure the popularity of chess as a sport, as well as improving sportsmanship of contestants, determining the composition of the district team of the respective age groups, the Main District Department of Youth and Sport held championship devoted to "December 31 - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis". At the opening ceremony of the championship, head of the District Department of Youth and Sport Fakhri Soltanov in his speech congratulated the participants on "December 31 - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis" and the New Year and wished them success. Teenagers and young people in the age groups of 8-10-12-14 and 16 years contested round robin. During the competition about 60 boys and girls tested their strength. At the end of the championship, the winners of I, II and III places in each age group were awarded diplomas of the District Department of Youth and Sport.
