The administrative-territorial representation of the Nij settlement hosted the report meeting devoted to the work done in the social and economic sphere in 2015, and objectives, forthcoming in 2016. The meeting was attended by the Head of the Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev, the heads of social facilities in the settlement, the villagers, elders, intellectuals, youth. At the meeting, the representative of executive power Ibrahim Mammadov spoke with the report due to the work done in 2015 in the settlement, and the challenges ahead. In its report, the representative of the administrative territory said that as the continuation of large-scale work on the improvement and creation, conducted in previous years, last year laying of the gas line to the settlement started, appropriate measures to ensure employment of the villagers have been implemented. Drawing attention to the fact that at the present moment works accelerated, carried out in this direction, he noted that today in the settlement 6032 human lives in 1468 family farms. The main occupations of the population are grain-growing, animal husbandry, horticulture, and gardening. For the 2016 harvest in the territory, barley was planted on the area of 877 hectares and wheat on the area of 1307 hectares. The cultivation progress in the areas is constantly in the spotlight of farmers, they are provided with fertilizers and pest control products. Villagers, speaking at the meeting expressed their satisfaction with the scale of socio-economic development in the village, the measures implemented by the President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of improving the living standards of the people. During the meeting suggestions were put forward to solve the existing problems. The head of the District Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev spoke at the meeting. Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev told about the achievements in socio-economic sphere in 2015, and in recent years, thanks to the successful continuation of the political course of Heydar Aliyev, the results of these achievements in Gabala, as well as in the Nij settlement, the work coming in the direction of implementation of tasks. Continuing his speech, he noted that at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to the results of 2015, the Head of State declared 2016 the "Year of multiculturalism". Drawing attention to the achievement of a unique model of tolerance in Nij settlement, where Udis, Lezgins, Azerbaijanis and other nations live together, Mr. Sabuhi Abdullayev mentioned the great expansion of the scope of work undertaken by our country in socio-economic sphere in the territory.
