A complex of Laza frontier post was opened in Gabala region.

State Border Service is successfully continuing improvements of the infrastructure of the Border Guard of the country, construction and commissioning of new border crossings meeting modern requirements, improvement of the service and living conditions of border guards. The commissioning of the newly built complex of "Laza" frontier post in Sheki Border Detachment on February 4, 2016 is a result of targeted actions carried out in this direction. The service territory of the frontier post, located in the direction of the highest mountain peak of Azerbaijan - Bazarduzu, has complicated relief and cold climatic conditions. In the winter months the protection of our national borders is organized in mountain areas covered with snow drifts, in the frosty and blizzard air. The conditions created at the newly built frontier post will create opportunities for the organization of border services at a higher level. Speaking at the ceremony held to mark the opening of the complex of the new frontier, the Head of the State Border Service - the Commander of the border troops, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, stressing the improvement of the military structure able to adequately perform any given task, passing the perfect way of the Border Service of Azerbaijan, due to the reforms consistently carried out under the guidance of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr.Ilham Aliyev vigorously continuing the policy of national development of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, he said, about the formation in recent years in our country of the modern infrastructure of the border guard, the successful continuation of the implementation of measures towards the establishment of service and living conditions at a high level in all military units. Addressing the meeting, the Head of the Gabala region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev congratulated border guards, wished them success. After the symbolic ribbon was cut, the Head of the State Border Service - the Commander of the border troops, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev together with the guests examined the frontier post. On the frontier post, built with a new pilot project, all the conditions are created for the organization of services at a high level and the rest of border guards. Built for the families of officers and warrant officers apartments, meeting the modern requirements special-purpose premises, dining room, rest area, gym, training camp, central heating and lighting systems, bath-laundry are provided with the necessary equipment and facilities, roads and sidewalks are paved, improvement works are carried out in the territory.
