In accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov on February 11 met with the representatives of the public of Gabala region. Before the meeting the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was honored and flowers were laid to his monument. At the meeting, Head of the Gabala Region Executive Power Sabuhi Abdullayev in his speech spoke about the measures undertaken in recent years in the region, and future projects. Head of the Region noted that in recent years in Gabala grape processing plant, plant for the production of fruit juices and wine, factories for the production of pianos and elevators, large cattle-breeding complexes and refrigerated warehouses, poultry farms, 18 modern hotels and recreation centers, various sports and leisure centers were built, and as a result, thousands of residents were provided with permanent jobs. Minister for Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov spoke about the issues, given instructions arising from the speech of the President Ilham Aliyev, sounded at the conference dedicated to the results of the second year of implementation of the State Program of socio-economic development of regions in 2014-2018. Speaking about the economic crisis in the world, the Minister said that these processes have led to a decrease in oil prices and manat rate: "But the instructions given by the Head of State Ilham Aliyev, decrees and orders signed by him, the changes to the laws, suggests that Azerbaijan will further strengthen its economy and social welfare of the population will increase." K. Heydarov noted that Gabala region has great potential for tourism. The district has done important work in the field of tourism development and the measures in this direction are underway. The Minister encouraged the businessmen to effectively use underground curative mineral hot waters in the Gamarvan and Yengija villages. He said that the measures taken in recent years for the development of industry, agriculture and tourism in the region, have borne fruit, and work in this direction continues. The Minister noted that the purpose of the meetings held on the instructions of the Head of State on the ground, is to familiarize more close with the situation, social standard of living, to study the problems and difficulties experienced by local businessmen, to make steps towards solving them. He urged members of the public to submit proposals for the development of Gabala, to be active in the discussions. In their speeches, region entrepreneurs and farmers spoke about the scope of activity, products and achievements. The proposals were announced to increase the production of feed for livestock and poultry, and the creation of small enterprises by the resident of Nij village, farmer Aghalat Bahishov; to to expand activities of the factory for the production of safe doors and household equipment by its owner Jeyhun Eyvazov; to develop a carpet workshop in the Vandam village by entrepreneur Abdullah Hashimov; to assist in the export of wine products in foreign countries by the representative of "ASPI Aqro" LLC Ajdar Shafizade. Also, proposals for the development of horticulture and fish farming have been put forward in the region, the construction of the reservoir for the purpose of irrigation of sown areas, the expansion of the activities of "Qəbələ-Quşçuluq" OJSC and the opening of new jobs, provision of soft loans to the owners. During the meeting, the issues relating to employment of the Gabala residents, potential of the region to bring this purpose to the action and other issues were discussed. Summing up the discussion, the Minister drew attention to the importance of efficient use of land, the increase of production aimed at export. It was noted that there are huge resources in the area and modern infrastructure is created here. Leveraging this potential, the significant progress in viticulture, tobacco growing, grain growing and cattle breeding can be achieved. The tourist facilities, large farms, providing income and a lot of money to the budget, operate in Gabala. All these create great opportunities for self-financing and reduce the dependence of the area of the state budget. Expressing confidence that the opportunities will be used effectively, the Minister brought to the attention that appeals and proposals made at the meeting have been recorded, and he will help in solving them. Members of the public addressing the meeting expressed their appreciation to the President for the attention and care about them.
